On the morning of March 29, the “Master Scholars and Chief Engineers Visit Campus” event, jointly organized by Xidian University was held on the Chang’an Campus. Professor Zhang Chunxi from Beihang University was invited to deliver an academic lecture titled “Photonics Crystal Fiber Gyroscope Technology.” The event attracted more than 300 faculty members and students from across the university.

Professor Zhang Chunxi provided a systematic overview of the theoretical foundations, design methods, and key technologies of photonic crystal fibers. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the theoretical and technical approaches to reducing loss in photonic crystal fibers and summarized the development history of photonic crystal fibers for sensing applications in China. Building on this foundation, he elaborated in detail on the working principles and error mechanisms of photonic crystal fiber gyroscopes, providing a comprehensive overview of their development process, current applications, and future trends. Throughout this process, a series of innovative achievements with independent intellectual property rights have been attained.
