On the evenings of April 11 and May 31, Xidian University held the 16th Graduate Student Campus Singing Competition and the 40th Undergraduate Student Campus Singing Competition at the Yanta and Chang’an campuses, respectively.
The event was hosted by the university and organized by the Student Union and the Graduate Student Association. More than 8,000 faculty and students gathered on campus, while over 10,000 people tuned in both online and offline to join this musical extravaganza that used melodies to sketch the starry sky and songs to illuminate youth.

The top ten singers competed on stage, advancing through three rounds of competition to claim the crown. Using “sound” as their brush and “song” to paint their dreams, the contestants filled the dazzling summer night with lingering melodies, radiating the passion and brilliance of Xidian University students for music.

The competition kicked off with the robot making an energetic entrance. Together with the B-Force Street Dance Club, they performed “Believer,” seamlessly blending a high-tech vibe with youthful energy. Their dynamic dance moves lit up the stage, instantly igniting the crowd. The IDOL Dance Club delivered four high-energy routines — “ANTIFRAGILE,” “Knife,” “FaSHioN,” and ‘SPAGHETTI’—with explosive beats and boundless energy; the Graduate Student Dance Association then kept the excitement at a fever pitch with their performance of “ONE SPARK.”

At the event, a sea of glow sticks swayed in the air, and cheers rang out one after another; the audience watched with focused and enthusiastic eyes, singing along spontaneously with heartfelt sincerity. The intertwining of applause and shouts brought the passion of youth to its brightest moment.

The night, a celebration of song and youth, shone brightly thanks to every performer and was made all the more special by every member of the audience. As the lights dimmed, the echoes lingered on—those moments illuminated by music have already become a shared memory for the Xidian community.
