On the afternoon of April 27, at the invitation of Xidian University Student Symphony Orchestra held a special concert titled “Symphony of the Times: A Glorious Chapter of Youth” at Xi’an Jiaotong University Affiliated High School. Approximately 1,000 attendees, including students from the school’s 11th grade and Gifted Program, as well as faculty representatives, were present. Su Tao, Dean of XDU Undergraduate School, Shi Fuqi, Dean of XDU School of Humanities, and Wang Yingwen, Vice Principal at the High School, attended the event.

The concert officially kicked off with the majestic strains of the orchestral piece “Ode to the Red Flag.” The orchestra then performed two world-renowned classics, “Waltz No. 2” and the “Overture to Die Fledermaus,” with their lively, romantic melodies complementing the highly dramatic arrangements. Shifting from Western classics to Eastern rhythms, the orchestra then performed two Chinese works, “Dream of the Tang Vase” and “Highland Dance Frenzy.” The uniquely ethnic melodies and deeply moving performance earned a long and enthusiastic round of applause from the audience.

In the future, Xidian University will continue to advance its Aesthetic Education Immersion Initiative, establish a collaborative platform for aesthetic education that spans institutions and educational levels, and promote the deep integration of art and technology in the educational journey, so that the symphony of our times may resonate more powerfully in the hearts of young people, composing a magnificent chapter of youth.
