The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Control Technologies (AIACT 2019） was held successfully in XDU from April 25th to 27th. 76 Specialists from 31 universities and institutions in China, Canada, Japan, Australia and Mexico attended the conference.

In the morning of April 28, the conference opened in "Fei Sheng 493" Academic Report Auditorium in the School of Mechano-Electronic Engineering. Professor Huang Jin, the school’s Executive Dean and the Director of Key Laboratory of Electronic Equipment Structure Design Supported by the Ministry of Education, addressed the opening ceremony on behalf of the host. Professor Duan Xuechao of the school hosted the opening ceremony, with Professor Dan Zhang delivering a speech on behalf of all the specialists present.
Four keynote speeches and two invited speeches were given during the conference. Prof. Toshio Fukuda delivered an academic report on “Multi-Locomotion Robotic Systems”. Prof. Dan Zhang delivered an academic report on “Performance Improvement of Robotic Systems for Manufacturing”. Prof. Kenji Suzuki delivered an academic report on “AI Doctor and Smart Medical Imaging with Deep Learning”. Prof. Wei Gao delivered a report on “A New Era of Civil Engineering: When It Meets Artificial Intelligence”.
One of the invited speeches was delivered by Professer Bao Jinsong from Donghua University on “Data Intelligence: Enpowering Digital Twin Manufacturing”, and the other by Professor Kong Lingfei from Xi’an University of Technology on “Control Energy Optimality for Multi-input Planar Cable-driven Parallel Robot”.
Futhermore, 22 oral reports and over 90 post reports were made at the conference. Attendees explored in great depth the topics of Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Robot Design and Application. According to the conference agenda, the attendees also enjoyed a tour of XDU university history museum and admired the scale model of FAST, a five hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope.
Hosted by XDU and Hong Kong Society of Mechanical Engineers(HKSME) and co-organized by York University, AIACT 2019 is the largest so far, compared with the first AIACT held in Wuhan Province in April, 2017 and the second held in Osaka, Japan in April, 2018.
