The National Laboratory of Radar Signal Processing is not only the laboratory which undertakes the basic research task in the field of radar signal processing, but it is also the research and teaching base for the national-grade key discipline “signal and information processing” of Xidian University. It offers the master program, doctoral program, and postdoctoral program research. At present, it has a working area of about 5200 square meters, possesses various kinds of advanced equipments for signal generation, test analysis, and data collection, and electronic system automatic designmeans, and has a good working environment.
After many years’ construction and operation, the Laboratory has formed a high-quality research echelon, among whom there is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences who is of great academic attainments, national, provincial and ministerial level experts with outstanding contributions, and many excellent young scientific and technical workers, including the winners of “National Fund for Outstanding Youths”, “New Century Outstanding Talents of the Ministry of Education”, and “Excellent Young Teachers of the Ministry of Education”.
According to the needs of the country’s construction and the national economic development, together with the development of disciplines, the Laboratory has been actively carrying out research activities. It has undertaken and finished a batch of national key projects, including the high-tech vertical projects from the national sci-tech advance research, the National Natural Science Foundation, the national “973 Program”, and the national “863 Program”; it has also undertaken the horizontal cooperative projects sponsored by related factories and institutes, with many scientific achievements applicable in radar. Its scientific and technological achievements have won 40 awards at the national/provincial/ministeriallevel, including 1 National Science Conference Award and 4 National Science and Technology Progress Awards.
Currently, there are over 450 master students and over 130 doctoral students studying and working in the Laboratory. The Laboratory has cultivated 150 doctoral students and 780 master students, with two doctoral dissertations listed among the 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations and another two on the nomination list for the National 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertations. The Laboratory has established active domestic and foreign academic exchanges and cooperation.
